Rinsada Showcased at East West Eye Conference: Advancing Innovation in Ocular Surface Care
Columbus, OH — November 6, 2025 — Rinsada, an innovator in ocular surface care solutions, was featured at the 2025 East West Eye Conference, where Dr. Cory Lappin, OD, MS, FAAO, presented a compelling case report highlighting the use of the Rinsada Irrigating Eyelid Retractor as a novel adjunct in the management of Superior Limbic Keratoconjunctivitis (SLK).
The poster, titled “Use of Irrigating Eyelid Retractor as a Novel Adjunct in the Treatment of Superior Limbic Keratoconjunctivitis: A Case Report,” was co-authored by Dr. Srinivas Sai A. Kondapalli, MD, FASRS, and Dr. Shelby Brogdon, OD, and presented in the Ocular Disease category.
This case detailed the treatment of a 40-year-old female with a five-month history of chronic, refractory SLK—a condition characterized by inflammation and friction between the superior bulbar and palpebral conjunctiva. Despite previous therapies including corticosteroids, immunomodulators, and artificial tears, symptoms persisted. Following an in-office ocular surface lavage using the Rinsada Irrigating Eyelid Retractor, the patient achieved marked symptom relief, complete clinical resolution, and recovery of 20/20 vision. She was later able to safely resume contact lens wear.
“This case demonstrates how targeted ocular surface irrigation can reduce friction and inflammation at the superior limbus—helping restore comfort and accelerate recovery in patients with challenging ocular surface diseases,” said Dr. Cory Lappin, lead author and Director of The Dry Eye Center of Ohio.
The case underscores how mechanical lavage of the palpebral conjunctiva may play a complementary role in reducing surface inflammation and enhancing the effectiveness of concurrent therapies, including immunomodulators such as cyclosporine.
