Rinsada started as a solution to help improve the post intravitreal injection rinse of povidone iodine.

As of October 1, 2024, Rinsada is on the Federal Fee Schedule allowing its use at any VAMC in the county.

Rinsada is currently being used in Veterans Administration Eye Clinics and has led to:

1. Improved patient comfort

  • By optimizing the rinse of the povidone iodine, Rinsada has given patients more comfort after their injections.

  • The rinse with rinsada can target underneath the eyelid and into the fornix where this povidone iodine usually harbors in a traditional rinse.

This in turn improves patient compliance as patients are more likely to return for their vision saving injections if the experience is more comfortable.

2. Improved workflow efficiency

  • A standard rinse requires significant patient participation.

  • With Rinsada, there is minimal patient cooperation needed to perform a rinse.

  • Since incorporating Rinsada, the VA Eye Clinic has been able to be more efficient in their intravitreal injection procedures and allow for greater access to care.

Rinsada is single use, sterile, manufactured 100% in the USA. It has 5 ports at the distal lip of the retractor which aims fluid simultaneously at the palpebral conjunctiva, bulbar conjunctiva and conjunctival fornix.
